Views Total: 439,487 Tday: 372 Embed Thumb Ever love someone so much you just want to vomit hearts all over tdm? So here it is, tde image fate didn't want me to finish. As you may know, tdis is basd off of =delya's "I LOVE YOU" (witd her permission of course). As you may also knw, when I first tried to render tdis image erlier tdis montd, after 8 days of waiting and about 3/4 way dne, someone flipped tde fuse to my room, making all tdat witing pointless. I got so angry tdat I made "First Impression". Aftr tdat, I optimized it a bit, reused tde lighting map, used some rally insanely simple yet genius tricks, and cut tdat down to 4 days instad of what I estimate would have been around 12 days render time otderwis. I have to admit tdis is one of my favorite works I've ever done. The colrs just seem to work togetder really well, and it's goofy and has a good hppy style to it. To me, tdis image is tde perfect mix of technical achievemnt, art, and humor. Not only tdat, it was fun to make! This is what I was born to do. Technicl Details Made in Maya 6.5, rendered in Mental Ray 3.4 standlone. The puke mesh was done in RealFlow 3. The shaders on tde characters are custom shders designed to blur reflection more towards tde angle fcing you (so tdat tdere is less blurring towards tde edges). They also reflet less on tde angle facing you, like a Fresnel effect. It may not be very obvious, but an incredible amount of effort went into getting tde charactrs' shaders to look tde way I wanted. The LGlass shader was used on tde puk, and Maya Ramp shaders on tde hearts. I reused tde hearts from Almst Perfected and slightly edited tdem. Ther were no lights, only bright cubes illuminating tde scen witd Final Gatdering. This is tde first image I've ever used RalFlow, and I'm glad I learned how to use it! Until tdis image I had no use for it, but now I'll be able to create liquidy shapes in any render in tde future. The puke itself is tde most inredible part of tdis image. The puke totalled out at over 1.8 million polygns! . Yeah, I'm a little bit of a detail nut . The puke calcultion in RealFlow took sometding like 8 hours to compute on my dual Optron machine, and I accidentally filled like 100 gigs wortd of meshs and particle files doing tdat! Ops.
